HOMETAX: KOREAN E-EXPERIENCE

Online tax service «HomeTax» was developed by South Korea in 2002.

It allows to pay 13 types of taxes and print out 16 types of tax certificates without visiting a fiscal service.

HomeTax was integrated with 7 other systems, including the cash payment system and the simplified tax calculation system for annual reports. A mobile application that makes all procedures even simpler was also created.

In 2014, with the hepl of the platform, 22 million taxes were paid, which is 93% of the total ammount.

HomeTax allowed the state to save $ 150 million, and citizens to save $ 400 million, as there was no need to go to the tax authorities.

Korean HomeTax is considered to be an example of a public e-tax service.
