The presentation of the II-nd stage of IT projects EGAP Challenge national contest “IT projects that will change the country” was held with the participation of the authorities, IT-entrepreneurs, foreign donors, experts in the field of digital technology, the winners of the previous stage of the contest and representatives whose projects have been already registered for the new stage in the contest.
EGAP Challenge supports projects in the field of e-democracy, on the basis of open data in such branches as ecology, education, agribusiness and infrastructure. The prize fund – 2 000 000 UAH.
The competition takes place in several stages:
- in December 2016, hackathons are held in the Ukrainian cities (Odessa, Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Lutsk ), where the best projects are selected;
- then the best projects go through the stage of pre-incubation, where potential ones are chosen more thoroughly and after that they are sent to incubation stage – the actual financial and mentors` assistance in launching the startup;
- in April 2017 to 12 winning projects will be awarded and the prize fund of 2 000 000 UAH will be distributed among them.
This contest is a joint initiative of the State Agency for e-governance and Eastern Europe Foundation within the framework of implementation of EGAP Programme, which is financed by the Swiss Confederation, with the support of the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
