On September 30, voting for projects within the framework of the first regional budget participation in Ukraine and all over the world was finished. Generally, 189 ideas were presented, they were aimed to improve life conditions. As a result, 42 projects were selected. The total budget for rural and urban residents' initiatives is estimated at UAH 4 million. Among the winning projects there are ideas for using modern technologies to create new communication opportunities and enhance community security, clean up rivers and create parkland areas, arrange sports or playgrounds in small communities, and also reconstruct and equip the territory of institutions for children in three towns. The project was initiated by the Poltava Regional Council. It was organized with the help of an e-democracy tool, which combines participation budgets and local e-petitions. This tool was created under the EGAP Program, funded by the Swiss Confederation and implemented by the Eastern Europe Foundation.
