On July 26, the "How to use drones for public projects" seminar was held in the “Inteshyk” gallery in Vinnytsia.
The seminar was conducted by the head of the "Tehnovin" NGO, Anton Horpynich. The event was attended by government representatives, youth, and media representatives.
The workshop examined the possibility of using drones to directly support the needs of civil society activists. Particularly - illegal deforestation, illegal use of public property, pollution in industrial areas, illegal dumping of waste, etc.
Unmanned aircrafts can also be used for photographing trends in traffic congestion, responding to accidents, evaluation of the scale of fires, coverage of community events, and so on. The speaker stressed that the drones can be used not only for photo and video reporting, but also for operational transportion of small loads. For example, when you need to quickly transport mediciation for emergency medical care.
Unfortunately, according to Anton Horpynich, Ukrainian legislation is still unsettled in regards to drones.
"If you give the court a photo of an accident taken by a drone, it may be recognized" as inadmissible. "Nevertheless, the scope of drone use in Ukraine is expanding drastically, including public monitoring and data collection," said Anton Horpynich.
